Artist's Description

The rim at Bryce varies from 8,000 to 9,000 feet (2400 to 2700 m), whereas the south rim of the Grand Canyon sits at 7,000 feet (2100 m) above sea level. The area therefore has a very different ecology and climate, and thus offers a contrast for visitors to the region (who often visit all three parks in a single vacation). The canyon area was settled by Mormon pioneers in the 1850s and was named after Ebenezer Bryce, who homesteaded in the area in 1875. The area around Bryce Canyon became a U.S. National Monument in 1924 and was designated as a national park in 1928.

About Brenda Kean

Brenda Kean

I have been a travel photographer for the past 30 years selling my work via photo libraries. I would welcome any comments you might wish to make about the choice I have made of images to submit to Fineartamerica. Photography has been my passion for 30 years and I also teach it to pass on my knowledge to the next generation. I get the greatest buzz to think that long after I depart this life, my work may still be earning an income for my great great grandchildren. To me that is a sort of immortality. For free slideshows of some of my trips please see my website at www.brenda-kean.pixels.com, or at https://www.instagram.com/quasarphotos . If you see something you like tell me and I will put it up on Fineartamerica for you to buy PLEASE...
